Directors' Biographies
Michael Hutchinson - Non-executive Chairman
Michael is currently non-Executive Chairman of RBS Sempra Metals Limited ('RBS Sempra'), having previously served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. RBS Sempra is the successor company of Metallgesellschaft Limited, which became MG plc and floated on the London Stock Exchange in September 1999. He is also a Director of LME Holdings Limited and The London Metal Exchange Limited.
Allan Kerr - Chief Executive Officer
Allan has been our CEO since 2005. He joined Wogen in London in 1980 to handle business with Japan and the Far East and moved to Hong Kong in 1984 to run Wogen Hong Kong. In 1987 he moved to Tokyo and opened our Japanese office, which he ran for 4 years before heading back to London in 1991. During the 1990's he was Managing Director of Ayrton & Partners, a specialist trading company which Wogen took over in 1991, specialising in ferro alloys. He has travelled extensively in over 40 countries in the course of his Wogen career and handled almost the same number of metals. Today he is concentrating on developing new business areas and leading the company towards its fifth decade.
Neil Poulter - Finance Director
Neil is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and joined the Group in 1998 after working for five years as an Audit Manager within professional services, gaining valuable experience in both the Alternative Investment Market and the metal trading industry. He was appointed as Finance Director of Wogen Resources Ltd in 2006 and became Finance Director of the Group on 1 October 2007.
Peter Watkins - Executive Director
Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and joined in 1982. He was the Finance Director of the Group between 1984 and 1 October 2007 and Group Managing Director between 1993 and 2005. He was appointed Director of Corporate Development on 1 October 2007. Previous to joining the Group, Peter was employed by Rudolf Wolff Holdings Limited which he joined in 1972. For the following ten year period he was involved in a management capacity in the trading of non-ferrous metals.
Douglas Hunter - Executive Director
Douglas joined in 1983 via Cominco (UK) Limited and Mining and Chemical Products Limited and specialises in electronic and platinum group metals. He is fluent in French.
Norman Ting - Executive Director
Norman joined in 1985 after graduating from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London. During 1991 to 1993 he was seconded to Comalco in Brisbane and has been Managing Director of Wogen Paci¢c since 1996. He is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Damian Brousse - Executive Director
Damian joined in 1991 from Chance China Limited. He specialises in Cobalt, Chromium and Magnesium. He is fluent in French and graduated from Northeastern University, USA.
Colin Williams - Non-executive Director
Colin founded the Group in 1972 with Bernard Buckman after a decade at Rudolf Wolff & Co. Limited. Colin is Executive Chairman of the Group and specialises in trading titanium sponge.
Tony Shearer - Non-executive Director
Tony joined the Group in November 2005. He was formerly Chief Executive of Singer & Friedlander Group plc, and previously held senior positions in a number of companies including Old Mutual International as Deputy Chief Executive, and M&G Group plc. He is the Non-executive Chairman of Uruguay Mineral Exploration Inc, of Abbey Protection plc, of Yorkshire Investment Group plc and of Caxton FX Limited. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
