Alex Williams

Alex returned to the UK after 6 years in China during which he worked in Wogen’s Beijing and Shanghai offices.  When not sourcing titanium he spent a lot of his time zigzagging around the country on his People’s Liberation Army motorbike/sidecar and trying to imbue the greater Chinese population with a love of Australian rock music. Back in London since 2007 Alex trades several metals around the desk and is responsible for the Company’s CIS offices.  He speaks German and Mandarin.

Dominique De Brouwer

Dominique is the polyglot of the trading desk.  Being Belgian she can say “algorithm” in French, Dutch, Russian and of course English. Her more than 18 years in the metals industry covered ores and concentrates as well as refined metals.  Formerly with large producer/miners the move to Wogen in 2007 represented a leap in size and imagination.  Dominique runs the PGMs and Electronic metals.

Douglas Hunter

Douglas ensures that we never get too carried away.  His view on life echoes Orwell’s that inaccuracy in language leads to despotism. Douglas initially built up the PGMs business within the company and while keeping a watching brief on these he remains more focused on Indium, the Rare Earths and the China offices. Douglas joined Wogen in 1983.

Laura Greenhalgh

Our expert in Tudor England (BA Hons History) also plays netball and is learning the trade in Chromium and Cobalt.  When not mastering the intricacies of REACH Laura picks up weighty classical tomes “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness….”   Laura joined us in 2010, after some of the worst of times, but then that’s history (and timing).

His knowledge and interest in Middle Eastern business, history and politics remains after his time in Lebanon, Jordan and Dubai, and he is now actively involved in generating new relationships with key emerging markets. Based in London and working alongside Allan, Nick particularly focuses on Chrome Ore and Antimony. Like many Wogeners he is passionate about all sports, whether he is in the stands or on the pitch.
